Bay State Guitars

Bay State Guitars was a brand produced by John C. Haynes in the late 1800's. John C. Haynes & Co. was an American maker of musical instruments in the late 19th century. In our estimation, his company is one of the most significant pre-war guitar makers.

"These old Bay State's use great wood, are built very well and are super light" said Randall Van Dyke, shop manager. "They have huge tone, that is almost vocal in it quality".

By early in the 20th century, the company was no longer making instruments. John C. Haynes died at his home in Boston on May 3, 1907.
